In 2014, No, a “seasoned” burner, along with campmates from Corporation Chaos created richROT as an homage to the famous Hitchbot—an unfortunate paint bucket who attempted to travel the country and failed after being destroyed violently. Basically, No and the camp let richROT loose at Burning Man and the robot has allegedly had a lot of adventures.
The beloved burner robot has accumulated many friends over the years and it was finally brought via burner travel network to the East Coast in 2024. In this journey, richROT accomplished what Hitchbot could not…traversing the country and coming out intact.According to No, richROT best and oldest friend, richROT will travel to Dublin for the annual Robophilosophy Conference, as an exhibit for an academic paper about robot friendship, which No will present.
