A major piece of Wonderfuse News infrastructure was found missing late Saturday morning at the PS 199 Barrio Art Space, just as the gates were about to open for the 2026 edition of Figment. Dozens of orange-clad volunteers rushed to the scene upon seeing the Editors-in-Bead running around frantically because they were wondering if they had forgotten the essential periwinkle pegboard and wooden supportive feet for the infamous clock board, known for its marquee that shows the latest headlines and sometimes just quotes from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Fortunately, being on the Upper West Side, many hardware stores were just blocks away, and a piece of plywood was secured.
An entourage of volunteers came to the rescue and helped erect the clock board, even pulling off some major acrobatic moves to piece together the critical set piece. One volunteer, Alex, who described himself as a jack of all trades, handily drilled the plywood from an upside-down angle. When asked for comment about these incredible skills, Alex was unable to answer and could not stop giggling profusely.Even though the new clock board is missing its precious periwinkle patina, Wonderfuse News is now open! Stay tuned for our all-day live coverage of Figment NYC!
